A Philadelphia Eagles reunion

This option makes the most sense for Zach Ertz simply because its where he started his NFL career and obviously where he won a Super Bowl back in 2017.

It would be a fine ending to his career if he came full circle to the Philadelphia Eagles and won a Super Bowl.  Like a potential role in the 49ers offense, Ertz would play alongside an impact tight end in Dallas Goedert who is making his way back from injury.  With the familiarity Ertz has with the team, he could come in and fit nicely and allow Jalen Hurts another veteran tight end option while Goedert makes his way back on the field fully healthy.

Again, this is not the Ertz of yesterday, but with the weapons the Eagles have on the outside in A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, Ertz could eat some yardage underneath as a quick option for Hurts.

An interesting nugget in a possible return to Philly is that Ertz is just 11 catches away from passing Harold Carmichael as the Eagles all-time leading receiver.  This season with the Cardinals Ertz had 27 receptions for 187 yards in 7 games.  In the Eagles’ offense, a rejuvenated Ertz should have no problem making history and winning a Super Bowl while he’s at it.
