Donovan Edwards NFL Draft spotlight: 3 prime destinations after CFC breakout performance
Cleveland Browns: Running back depth behind Nick Chubb in 2024
The Cleveland Browns are playoff bound despite losing star running back Nick Chubb to a season-ending ACL injury during the middle of the season. Since then, the team has turned to a running back-by-committee formula that has worked thus far.
While Kareem Hunt, Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. have been getting it done, the Browns may still turn to the draft to add more running back depth as it could take Chubb some time to get back to full strength even when healthy. With the way the Browns like to attack with the running game, Donovan Edwards would be intriguing in the middle rounds.
Although he has had a down year with Michigan, that performance in the championship game showed off what he is capable of and his style of running fits the Browns perfectly. That ground and pound attack that eventually wears down opposing defensive lines along with his ability to catch the ball would give Cleveland another dual threat back in the backfield until and when Chubb is back to full strength.
