Option number one for the Steelers at No.16 is Jayden Daniels, the Hiesman-winning LSU quarterback, who scored 50 total TDs under center for the Tiger in 2023, is an exciting prospect. His athleticism is his standout talent, and he is a credible rushing threat with speed and agility to evade defenders.

At 6-3 and 205 lbs, there is a lot to like about Jayden Daniels, the dual-threat QB from LSU. His superpower is his athleticism, with home run speed and a lot of burst and flexibility to move around defenders in space. As a passer, he has the experience of a veteran, with a calm demeanor and good discipline and timing. His arm talent and accuracy are a bit of a mixed bag, as he is excellent at throwing deep in rhythm, but his accuracy in the 1-20-yard range can be inconsistent. He also does not always have the velocity to fit tight windows, and his accuracy drops off when he needs to throw out of rhythm or late in the down.

His composure in the pocket and timing are excellent, though his accuracy and arm strength are sometimes lacking. He delivers deep throws efficiently, but his accuracy takes a hit when forced to make throws in haste or out of rhythm. His athleticism is elite, and his pocket management and toughness are above average, as is his processing within the pocket. He is dangerous when running and has moments of creativity when throwing outside the pocket.

The biggest question surrounding Daniels as the Steelers' 16 picks is availability. The draft tracker is all over the board on Daniels. Will he slip past the Giants at 6, Jets at 7, Raiders at 9, or the Falcons at 10, or will he be dropped to the third round behind Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr?
