With the No. 98 and last pick in our Midseason mock draft for the NFC East, the Commander select Ty'ron Hopper, LB, out of Missouri. With the Offense stacked, it was time to rebuild the Defense and get Jared Verse some support; Hopper is that guy.

Hopper has the agility to quickly change direction and chase down tight ends and running backs in man coverage. He is an explosive player who can counter inside and close on the ball carrier with excellent bursts. His physicality and wrap-up tackling skills are similar to those of a linebacker.

His sideline-to-sideline range and lateral agility are impressive, and he can shake off pass blockers quickly. Hopper has the agility to stick with tight ends and running backs and plays with tremendous speed. He is agile in short areas and has the instinct to locate the ball quickly.

He played every game for the Tigers in 2023, tallying 55 tackles, three sacks and three passes defended—nothing to trade up for but a steal at 98 nonetheless.

This isn't a loud or alluring pick, but it is an essential one for the Commanders. They got an LB the style of Seattle's Jordyn Brooks, a guy that can get you 100 tackles, four sacks, two turnovers and play every down. He isn't flashy but a dependable leader and day-one starter.
