NFL fantasy football owners who drafted Tyler Warren were left with a big smile on their face after his NFL debut performance in Week 1.  The Indianapolis Colts rookie wasn’t the only tight end from the 2025 NFL Draft class with impressive starts to their NFL career.

Which of these first year tight ends will continue their hot starts in Week 2? Which tight end with a quiet start will emerge?

NFL Week 1 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em

TE – Colston Loveland, TE11, Chicago Bears (0-1) vs. Detroit Lions (0-1)

A Week 1 Sit ‘Em pick, expect Colston Loveland to be more involved in the Bears’ offense in Week 2 against a Detroit Lions team that didn’t look great against the Packers a week ago.  In the 27-24 loss to the Vikings, Loveland had just 2 targets resulting in 2 receptions for 12 yards.  In all the Bears’ tight end tandem of Loveland and Kmet had just 3 receptions in total.  That should change against the Lions in Ben Johnson’s homecoming.

In this game, expect more two tight end sets with Caleb Williams getting the ball more to Loveland as Johnson and the Bears’ offense will look to get the rookie more involved in his return to the great state of Michigan.

TE – Tyler Warren, TE4, Indianapolis Colts (1-0) vs. Denver Broncos (1-0)

Tyler Warren had as good of an NFL debut as it gets in helping the Colts trounce the Miami Dolphins in a 33-8 beatdown.  In that game, Warren caught 7 receptions for 76 yards in earning 14.90 fantasy points which was third amongst all tight ends.  Can he maintain his hot start against the tough Denver Broncos defense in Week 2?

The Tennessee Titans tight end did manage some catches against the Broncos, so look for the Colts to lean on their running game and find ways to get Warren in the mix.  To move the ball against the Broncos, they will have to find creative ways to get the rookie tight end involved and they will.

TE – Harold Fannin Jr., TE34, Chicago Bears (0-1) vs. Baltimore Ravens (0-1)

The Cleveland Browns second round pick was a sit ‘em last week in anticipation of the team leaning more on the running game and getting the ball to their other tight end, David Njoku.  Well, the Browns surprised by getting Harold Fannin Jr. involved more than expected.  He ended up 6th amongst all tight ends in fantasy points with 13.60.

With 7 receptions for 63 yards in the 17-16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, look for Fannin to have similar production against a Baltimore Ravens team that did struggle defensively in their Week 1 loss against the Buffalo Bills.  Yes, they will be pumped up I their home opener, but Joe Flacco made his career in Baltimore and will have the Browns’ offense more competitive than expected due to two tight end threat they now have with Fannin Jr. in the mix.

NFL Week 1 Fantasy Football Sit ‘Em

TE – Elijah Arroyo, TE18, Seattle Seahawks (0-1) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0)

Although the Steelers gave up some yards and points to the New York Jets of all teams, don’t expect Mike Tomlin’s defense to have another lackluster performance.  This means it will likely be another quiet game for Seahawks rookie tight end Elijah Arroyo who was only targeted 1 time in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Don’t get me wrong, Arroyo’s big game is coming, but going up against a Steelers’ secondary led by Jalen Ramsay will be a tough task for the Seahawks’ rookie to get going.

TE – Terrance Ferguson, TE54, Los Angeles Rams (1-0) vs. Tennessee Titans (0-1)

The Rans top draft pick didn’t play a snap in his NFL Debut.  The Rams went with the combination of Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson with Davis Allen also getting snaps in the team’s opening season win.

When will Ferguson get his shot with the Rams?  Fantasy owners may have to wait a few games as the rookie tight end had a bit of a late start in the preseason due to a groin injury.  He could be a hot waiver wire pickup once he gets going.

NFL Week 2 Fantasy Football Sleeper

TE – Mason Taylor, TE23, New York Jets (0-1) vs. Buffalo Bills (1-0)

The Jets came close to beating the Steelers in Week 1 with Justin Fields fueling the offense. In Week 2 against the Bills, the Jets’ best chance to win should be by running the ball and getting the ball out more to their athletic rookie tight end.

In his NFL debut, Taylor had just one reception, but that went for 20 yards.  There should be more of that in this AFC East showdown.
