Cayden Green is a true senior offensive lineman at Missouri. He is in his second season as the Tigers’ starting left tackle but also has experience at both guard spots. Green is listed at 6-foot-5, 324 pounds and attended Lee’s Summit North High School in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Green was a four-star recruit out of high school, according to ESPN, and spent his freshman year at Oklahoma, where he played over 500 snaps at guard. He then transferred to Missouri, where he started at left guard in 2024 before moving to left tackle in 2025.
Green has an interesting draft profile with a big frame, strong upper body, and light feet, but how all of those things work together raises questions. But what can't be questioned is his determination and leadership.
Green played his first game of the season in week two against Kansas after having surgery to clean up a torn meniscus just ten days prior.
Green isn't in the running to be the top lineman off the board in the 2027 NFL Draft, but he could play his way into the first round with a good season.

What are Cayden Green's biggest strengths?
- Big, strong physical lineman who has made a lot of strides physically as he's moved from guard to tackle
- Good upper body strength. Green latches onto defenders well, delivers pop with his strong hands, and has an accurate and well-timed punch
- Light on his feet, he can move around well. This shows up moving in space or to second level in run game, or laterally in pass protection
- In the run game, he has gotten stronger - delivers pop off the line, is good at down blocks, and could be effective as a combo blocker
- Can generate some leg drive and push in the run game
Where can Cayden Green improve?
- While light on his feet and the result is decent balance, his lower half is missing strength; top-heavy player
- That top-heaviness makes it difficult to deal with speed off the edge. Against Texas A&M in 2025, he had a lot of that. He'll try to move his feet quicker, and his upper body will become out of sync, and he loses power
- That same lack of power in his lower half makes it hard to generate his leg drive and push in the running game. It takes time to get it going
NFL Draft Projection
Green is a borderline first-round pick, but should be taken in the first 50 picks of the draft. There's too much experience and good tape, combined with the traits, to pass on in the second round. Even if there's still some development that needs to happen to be an every-week starter.
NFL Pro Comparison
My comp for Green right now is Carolina Panthers tackle Taylor Moton. Moton had a similar physical profile coming out of Western Michigan (6'5, 319 pounds), and was a decent athlete. But the tape is the real story.
Moton has that good length and athleticism, but it isn't always pretty. He doesn't have the cleanest footwork, but he has the upper-body strength and hand use to make up for it. And keeping the feet moving is better than not moving them at all. And Moton and Green both do that.
Moton has never been a Pro Bowler or All-Pro, but he started 124 games between 2018 and 2025 at tackle for the Panthers. Green could have a similar career arc as a good player for a long time.

Draft Projection: Top 50 pick
Green gets an 80 grade from me, which is a top-50 player and basically a lock for a late-first, or second-round pick. The size, athleticism, strength, experience, and overall ability are too good to pass on when it comes to offensive linemen. But there are some obvious questions to Green's game that keep him from being a first-round lock.
Considering the improvements in Green's game from his first season at Missouri to this point, there's no reason to think he can't continue to improve. Maybe that's this season, and maybe that's as a pro. But he's a player worth taking a shot on.
