Tetairoa McMillan is standing tall amongst the top wide receivers entering the 2025 NFL Draft.  You could take that literally.

At 6-foot-5, 2012 pounds, the Arizona Wildcats wide receiver has that prototypical size for an outside threat and the speed and catch radius to be a dominant force in any NFL offense.  Just look at the season he had for the Wildcats.

On a struggling Arizona team that went 4-8, McMillan was everything with 84 receptions for 1,319 yards and 8 touchdowns.  With explosive play after explosive play, McMillan set himself apart from the rest and one can only wonder just how much of a difference maker he can be when he is not the focus of the offense.  Also, imagine just how more effective he can be catching the ball from elite quarterbacks?

In all McMillan is the type of target who can make young quarterbacks elite and veteran quarterbacks glisten when they see him outmatching secondaries down the sidelines and in the open field.

2025 NFL Draft: Tetairoa McMillan is the best of the best

When you are the best of the best at a position as important as wide receiver you get comparisons to NFL superstars like Mike Evans.  In ranking the top five receiver prospects, Last Words on Sports has McMillan as the clear No. 1 receiver in the draft because of that resemblance to Evans and how he can write his own success story in the NFL.

Per Last Word on Sports:

“A couple of prospects have been touted as big-bodied receivers with strong hands, but Tet is the best of the bunch. He’s the entire Arizona offense, and he’s not just a tower on the outside. He’s had over five yards after the catch per reception each season. Those aren’t crazy numbers, but definitely promising considering opposing defenses give him all of their attention. That’s also despite being listed at 6’5″, 212 pounds.”

3 interesting NFL fits for Tetaiora McMillan

There is no doubt McMillan is the nation’s best wide receiver at this point in the college football season.  When it comes to NFL teams in need of that game-changing playmaker, McMillan fits the mold on an X receiver who can be a difference maker in any offense.  When thinking of the best fits for McMillan, it would have to be teams with quarterbacks who can get the ball down the field.  Here are the top three that come to mind.

New England Patriots: Drake Maye to McMillan.  That combination currently has Patriots fans daydreaming.  The question for the Patriots come draft time will be whether the talent of McMillan trumps the teams most desperate need which is left tackle?  That will depend on how the Patriots address that need in other ways.  Or, with the depth at tackle in this year’s draft, they can get Maye his elite playmaker and address tackle on Day 2.  It’s going to be tough to pass up a talent like McMillan that high in the draft.

Tennessee Titans: With Will Levis lighting things up the last couple of weeks and showing he is the man in the Music City, giving him another top tier talent to play alongside Calvin Ridley Jr.  With Tony Pollard in the backfield, the Titans would be a little more explosive offensively, especially if they can land a tight end somewhere in the draft on Day 2 or Day 3.  In all, it is McMillan’s catch radius and big frame as a pass-catcher that would make him a solid addition to the Titans’ offense or any NFL offense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Speaking of big frame and catch radius, the Buccaneers just might have an opportunity to draft the next Mike Evans by taking Tetaiora McMillian.  His ability to haul in contested passes along with his elusiveness in the open field already reminds many NFL draft experts and scouts of Evans.  What better way to start his NFL career than learning from the best.  As for Baker Mayfield, he will have another McMillan to go along with Jalen McMillan and Evans.
