The 53-man rosters are set, and as the NFL prepares to kick off Week 1 of the 2026 season on Sept. 9, scouts and fans have already gotten an appetizer of the talent that could define the 2027 NFL Draft.
While headliners like Arch Manning, Dante Moore and Jeremiah Smith have yet to fully showcase why they are viewed as potential No. 1 overall picks, other top prospects have already started making noise. Miami QB Darian Mensah, South Carolina edge Dylan Stewart and Rutgers wide receiver KJ Duff are among the names who have given NFL teams an early glimpse of the talent they will be tracking all season long.
In this NFL kickoff edition of our full 2027 NFL Mock Draft, we match high-level talent with teams based on their projected biggest areas of need. With quarterback once again driving the conversation at the top, this first-round projection gets interesting in a hurry.

2027 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks dominate the top 10
No. 1 Arizona Cardinals: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon
Will Arizona decide between Dante Moore and Arch Manning here, or will they strongly consider Darian Mensah at No. 1? Mike LaFleur and the Cardinals will see what they have in third-round pick Carson Beck, but they will be paying close attention to the 2027 QB class.
Moore gets the nod at No. 1 over both Manning and Mensah due to his accuracy, fit in a West Coast offensive system and overall body of work orchestrating Oregon’s offense. If Arizona is looking for a new face of the franchise, Moore has the tools and experience to become exactly that.
No. 2 Miami Dolphins: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
Could the Dolphins pass up a quarterback here? Unlikely, but until Malik Willis starts to look like he is not the guy in Miami, they take Jeremiah Smith at No. 2 overall. If Willis settles in as the QB in South Beach, the next goal will be getting him a superstar playmaker.
Smith is exactly that guy. A generational talent who has already drawn comparisons to the likes of Julio Jones and Calvin Johnson gives the Dolphins a true alpha dog at the position. The Ohio State star has early buzz as a potential No. 1 overall pick and would immediately give Miami one of the most exciting young playmakers in the NFL.
No. 3 New York Jets: Darian Mensah, QB, Miami (FL)
After his spectacular debut in a Miami Hurricanes uniform, it’s going to be hard for any team selecting in the top three to ignore Darian Mensah. The junior quarterback was already generating buzz as a top-10 pick prior to leading the Hurricanes to a Week 1 45-6 victory over Stanford.
After throwing for over 400 yards and looking like an early Heisman favorite, the Jets selecting Mensah this high won’t shock anyone. In fact, the Jets may be considered lucky he falls to No. 3. If Mensah continues his rise throughout the season, New York could finally land the young quarterback it has been searching for.
No. 4 Cleveland Browns: Arch Manning, QB, Texas
The Browns enter the 2026 NFL season with four quarterbacks, but they still need to find their long-term solution at the position. Selecting Arch Manning at No. 4 in the 2027 NFL Draft could finally give them one.
That is if Manning can put together a full season of elite quarterback play. With his elite arm, mobility and name recognition, Manning playing with a chip on his shoulder after being the third QB off the board could ignite something special in Cleveland, especially with the foundation of offensive talent he will be commanding.
No. 5 Tennessee Titans: Dylan Stewart, EDGE, South Carolina
The Titans continue to build their defensive front four with the selection of Dylan Stewart with the No. 5 overall pick. We like Stewart over Colin Simmons here because of the fit and rushing style of Stewart.
With Robert Saleh’s defensive scheme relying on a natural bull rush from his front four, pairing Stewart with veteran Jeffery Simmons on the interior and 2026 first-round pick Keldric Faulk on the other end gives Tennessee a titanic defensive front that could collapse pockets quickly.
No. 6 Atlanta Falcons: CJ Carr, QB, Notre Dame
The Falcons are on our list of NFL teams that could be in the hunt for a quarterback in this draft, so we are going with CJ Carr as the fourth quarterback off the board in the first six picks.
The fact that Kevin Stefanski implied the team could roll with undrafted rookie free agent Jack Strand as QB1 is an indication he may not be sold on Michael Penix Jr. due to his injury-prone start to his NFL career and certainly not Tua Tagovailoa. With the offensive talent the Falcons have, Carr seems like a natural fit for the type of offense Stefanski likes to run. He’s a poised pocket passer who delivers the ball with accuracy and velocity.
No. 7 Las Vegas Raiders: Cam Coleman, WR, Texas
Interestingly, 2027 could be the debut of Fernando Mendoza as a starter if all goes well with bridge quarterback Kirk Cousins in 2026. If that is the plan, the Raiders need to continue building the offense around their young quarterback.
The Raiders give the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft a potential superstar receiver in Cam Coleman. Also drawing comparisons to Julio Jones, this highly touted receiver is an outside boundary gem who could be the final piece of the puzzle in Vegas.
No. 8 New Orleans Saints: Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas
The Saints are another wild-card team that could be in the hunt for a QB if second-year gunslinger Tyler Shough takes a step back. If Shough proves he is the answer, New Orleans can turn its attention toward finding a long-term replacement for Cameron Jordan.
That leads them to Texas Longhorns star Colin Simmons. At this point, we have the Saints going with a defensive star, and Simmons comes with monster talent that makes him a nightmare off the edge.
No. 9 Carolina Panthers: Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame
In a make-or-break season, quarterback Bryce Young will have a say in what direction the Panthers go come draft time. If they need to go QB, there will still be first-round options to select from.
If Young proves he’s the man, the Panthers can take the best available player who fits one of their projected areas of need. That player is top cornerback Leonard Moore, a defensive star Carolina can target to ramp up that side of the ball.
No. 10 Pittsburgh Steelers: LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina
In somewhat of a surprise, LaNorris Sellers is the fifth QB off the board. The surprise is not the Steelers taking a QB at No. 10, but Sellers getting selected over the likes of Julian Sayin, Drew Mestemaker and Jayden Maiava.
If Sellers proves he can stay healthy and work on his consistency, he is a physically gifted, dual-threat quarterback who will intrigue Mike McCarthy. He would also bring hype to the QB position as he battles Drew Allar in the summer of ’27.
