The 2027 NFL Draft quarterback landscape has already started to shift. Before the season, this class was considered one of the best in decades, filled with franchise-changing talent at the top of the draft and a deep group of prospects who could be selected throughout the first two rounds.

Now, we aren't so sure.

Inconsistent play from college quarterbacks and programs so far in 2026 may change the perception of the class before we even get to draft season. But there might not be as many quarterback-needy teams as expected.

Last month, we started to track how many teams would need to draft a quarterback early in this year's class based on their own quarterback play, contract situations, and draft capital. And after four weeks, it's time to update that tracker.

While it's still too early to say for sure, several teams are trending in and out of the need for a quarterback in 2027. We'll go through several categories to determine the interest level of 14 different teams who might need a new signal-caller next April. Then we'll match seven quarterbacks with potential landing spots in a quick mock draft that could look very different from what we expected just one month ago.
