NFL MVP — Lamar Jackson (Ravens)

Is it bold to claim a former MVP will once again take home the award? I’ll let you decide. But to support my case, let’s address the elephant in the room: Lamar Jackson and his health. He has missed at least one game every year as a starter, including ten over the past two seasons alone.

However, when Jackson is on the field — he is often the best player. Baltimore has moved on from the stale play calling of Greg Roman, this time bringing in a pass-happy offensive coordinator in Todd Monken. But that’s not all. The weaponry for the Ravens is head and shoulders above what it has been.

Odell Beckham Jr. is not what he used to be, but he still has enough in the tank to move the needle. Rookie pass catcher Zay Flowers is the real key to Jackson reaching his next stage of development as a quarterback. Both guys should form a fearsome passing attack alongside tight end Mark Andrews.

If the offensive line remains upright, and Lamar Jackson does as well, this season will end the same way 2019 ended — with the former Louisville Cardinal hoisting the coveted NFL MVP trophy.
