NFC East Rumors: Eagles in on Jonathan Taylor?

Speaking of running backs, could the Philadelphia Eagles add more buzz to the NFC East by trading for disgruntled Indianapolis running back Jonathan Taylor?

With teams like the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears rumored favorites to land Taylor, don’t rule out the Eagles.

In fact, Philly is rumored to be the among the most “aggressive trade suitors” for the 24-year-old Taylor, who would make the Eagles a tough team to beat in the conference with Jalen Hurts making strides and the awesome wide receiver duo of Brown and Smith.

The question amongst Eagles fans is whether a Taylor trade would make sense for their squad.  Ideally, when given an opportunity to make a blockbuster deal that would put his team over the top, Eagles GM Howie Roseman is not one to shy away.  But the trade compensation the Colts will want for Taylor will be a driving factor.

Will a team like the Eagles give the Colts that high-round pick they covet?  If it’s a second-round pick that gets the job done, perhaps.  If it’s a first-round pick, the Eagles may back off a bit as well as most of the teams in on Taylor, especially with the running back on the final year of his rookie deal.

Any trade will have to come with an extension, especially in return for a top round pick.
