AFC North Buzz: Ravens ink Clowney, Steelers hype, and Netflix Burrow?
AFC North player watch: Elijah Moore looking to be more in Cleveland
Another reason the AFC North will be intriguing is the talent of the Browns. As a team that has underachieved the last couple of seasons, Cleveland fans hope this is the season they put it all together and it starts offensively.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson is key, but it is the duo of wide receivers he has that could really have the Browns rocking in Cleveland. The talent and production of Amari Cooper will be there, but the X-factor is Elijah Moore who the Browns acquired in a trade with the New York Jets.
Moore showed his skill with the Jets during his rookie, but his shine quickly faded when he basically disappeared in the Jetsâ offense in his second season. Moore requested a trade and got it prior to this yearâs NFL Draft. With a fresh start, Moore is hoping to capitalize on his potential in what should be a better situation for him.
Playing alongside a veteran like Cooper should help spark the fire. So, far it is theveteran who has been impressed by his new teammate.
"âItâs been great,â Cooper said during his press conference this past week. âElijah makes a lot of plays. Heâs a great complement to the offense, great complement to me. Weâre going to be a great tandem together, you know? I think about great tandems like Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce. You know, thatâs what I think we could be. âWe both run really good routes, both create separation. We both get open, and weâre both reliable.â"
Reliable is the challenge and focus for Moore in 2023. The talent is there, he just has to make plays and be solid second option for Watson and the Brownsâ offense for this team to make some noise in this deep AFC North.
