AFC North hype: Steelers will be better than you believe

You can never count out a Mike Tomlin coached team and in 2023 the Pittsburgh Steelers will be right there in the AFC North.

Defensively, the Steelers will be the Steelers behind the return of T.J. Watt and defensive stars like Cameron Heyward, Levi Wallace, Kwon Alexander, Minkah Fitzpatrick and the promise of rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Steelers can be a problem.  While second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett is out to make a leap in Year 2, he’ll have some interesting playmakers around him featuring second-year receiver George Pickens, running back Najee Harris and a deep group of tight ends that include Pat Freiermuth, Zach Gentry, Connor Heyward and exciting rookie Darnell Washington.

Both sides of the ball have been living up to the hype so far this preseason.  In a 27-15 win over the Buffalo Bills in the team’s second preseason game, the defense and offense took it to the Bills.  It was just the preseason, but the first team units dominated the first team units of the Bills.

The Steelers’ defense shut down Josh Allen and the Bills’ offensive firepower, but impressively the offense shined with Pickett looking very good in connecting with a number of his weapons, including clutch throws veteran receiver Allen Robinson II, Pickens and Freiermuth, who Pickens connected with on this 25-yard touchdown pass.

The top highlight of the night was a 62-yard touchdown run by running back Jaylen Warren who is showing the Steelers also have some nice depth behind Harris.  So, watch out for the Steelers in the AFC North.  The hype is real folks.

But is the hype real for the Dawg Pound?
