NFC East Buzz: Zach Martin contract, Giants edge duo and Eagles-Donald rumors?
NFC East better watch out for this Giants young defensive duo
The Dallas Cowboys will need to lock up Martin because according to Bleacher Report, the New York Giants have a duo of edge rushers primed to breakout in 2023.
In highlighting 8 NFL edge defenders in best positions for breakout seasons in 2023, B/R writer David Kenyon provided some hype for Giants fans and some fear for the rest of the NFC East by outlining why Azeez Ojulari and Kayvon Thibodeaux is an edge rush duo to watch this upcoming season.
He writes:
"“Two years ago, Azeez Ojulari tallied eight sacks and 27 pressures. Despite a few injuries holding him to seven appearances in 2022, he still managed 5.5 and 13, respectively, in just 230 snaps. Kayvon Thibodeaux, meanwhile, ended his debut campaign with four and 18, finishing fourth in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.”"

Kenyon goes on to name a strong interior of the defensive line for the Giants as a basis for why he believes these two young studs will be in position to rack up double-digit sacks. In a division that features Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts, these two Giants edge rushers will need to come up big in order for the team to keep those QB’s at bay.
If either Thibodeaux or Ojulari breaks out, great for the Giants. If it is actually both like B/R predicts even better!
