Round 2, 59th Overall: Christopher Smith, SAF, Georgia

The issues with the trenches are clear for the Buffalo Bills, but there’s another elephant in the room. Jordan Poyer is set to be a free agent, and by the way he spoke after the Bengals loss, he thinks he’ll play elsewhere in 2023.

Christopher Smith has a couple boxes to check during the 2023 NFL Draft process. He did pretty well at the Senior Bowl, showcasing the physicality necessary for man coverage and proving that he can be fluid with his movement skills in the combine drills. The next box to check is running fast enough, as his size will be a bit of a detractor.

Still, Smith is the player you want playing safety on your team. His ability to drop from the roof into throwing windows is impressive. He processes things extremely quickly, and is a disruptive force as a tackler and at the catch point. Smith reads the quarterback’s eyes well and can convert opportunities into interceptions.

Round 3, 91st Overall: Tyler Scott, WR, Cincinnati

Gabriel Davis has his highs and lows, as does Isaiah McKenzie. Khalil Shakir played well in spurts this season, but he’ll probably be a slot guy going forward. Remember the name Tyler Scott. Scott’s speed is impressive, and his ability to gear down and get in and out of breaks is excellent. His ability to create as a deep threat should unlock more Allen deep balls, but he can separate underneath too.
