The Buffalo Bills have to figure a few things out to finally reach the mountaintop. They find trench studs and a weapon for the offense in this mock draft.

The 2022 season felt like the year for the Buffalo Bills. After demolishing the previous Super Bowl champs on opening night, and being well-positioned for the top AFC seed all year long, everything was lining up.

But, they ran into a Bengals team that stayed hungry from a year ago in the divisional round. It felt like the Bills asked Josh Allen to be a superhero all game long, and they were beat up in the trenches all game long.

A long look in the mirror is how the Buffalo Bills will start the offseason. They’ve drafted okay, but haven’t landed the superstars in the past few drafts. They’ve gone deep at pass rusher and defensive line, only to have an issue when Von Miller wasn’t available. Guard needs help too. A number two receiver is still important, and the running backs aren’t that impressive.

Let’s look at what the Bills could end up doing in the 2023 NFL Draft with a seven-round mock draft that heavily features the trenches.

Round 1, 27th Overall: O’Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida

As was previously mentioned, the Buffalo Bills need to fortify the offensive line and protect Allen from taking a beating in the pocket. Roger Saffold is a free agent, and there isn’t much depth at all. O’Cyrus Torrence isn’t a flashy selection at pick 27, but he is a very good one.

Torrence is a mauler in a phone booth, with the nasty streak to finish through the whistle. He’s very stout against the bull rush, dropping anchor to limit any push to the pocket. His footwork is good too, and once he latches on, the rush feels over. His athleticism is underrated as well, and he has proven to reach block and get out in space. Torrence will be a mainstay for a long time on this line.
