2-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Steelers, Seahawks Trade Up For QBs
5. New York Giants: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
The New York Giants have two picks in the top seven, and this 2022 NFL Mock Draft worked out so well for them. The Giants get their pick of an offensive lineman, and they roll with Evan Neal here.
Neal has played left guard, right tackle, and left tackle at Alabama, and he would slide in at right tackle to form a great duo with Andrew Thomas. Neal’s power, athleticism, and length make for potential dominance in the running game and another great pass protector in the Big Apple.
6. Carolina Panthers: Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh
It’s hard to figure out what the Carolina Panthers will do in one of the big “domino selections” of the 2022 NFL Draft. Could they trade back? Absolutely they could. But, with no takers here, they get a quarterback of the future in Kenny Pickett. Pickett has the link to Matt Rhule, and he extends Rhule’s window in Carolina.
7. New York Giants: Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
The Giants are still in talks to trade James Bradberry, and might ultimately release him. That opens the door to make an upgrade in the secondary. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, Derek Stingley Jr. is the guy. His stock is back on the rise, and he has the production, instincts, athleticism, and temperament to be a lockdown corner in the NFL.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Ikem Ekwonu, OL, NC State
The Atlanta Falcons sit at eight, and even though this could be a trade-down candidate, they stick and make a great value pick in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. The offensive line hasn’t been talked about that much, but it could use a major facelift. Ikem Ekwonu is a fantastic run blocker with the athleticism to work in Arthur Smith’s scheme. Play him at right tackle or guard and prosper in the run game.
