Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Even with the multiple veteran wide receivers that the Kansas City Chiefs have added in free agency, it is important that they are still actively looking for a prospect with high upside early in the draft. Tyreek Hill’s speed is arguably the best single trait in the NFL, so make no mistake, I am not saying Dotson will replicate the pure explosiveness, but I do believe he could put up some pretty crazy numbers with Patrick Mahomes throwing him the football.

Dotson never had an elite passer at Penn State, but it did not stop him from putting up 143 catches, 2266 receiving yards, and 20 touchdowns over the course of his final two seasons in Happy Valley. Along with elite production, Dotson possesses arguably the best hands in the class. He consistently attacks the ball, with only a couple very rare instances of letting the ball travel to his chest. Furthermore, the shifty wide receiver flashed stellar speed in the 40-yard dash (4.43). He is the full package and if he makes it to No.29 overall, he is the odds on favorite to be selected by the Chiefs.

Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan

A lot of what makes Jahan Dotson special shows up in Skyy Moore’s game as well. He clocked in a couple ticks faster than Dotson in the 40-yard dash (4.41) and has hands that rival the former Nittany Lion. Moore was targeted 125 times in 2021, and hauled in 95 of those tosses while only dropping four during the campaign. He possesses the biggest set of hands for any wide receiver in the draft class.

The differences start with their frame. Dotson is an inch taller, but Moore has 15 pounds on him, giving reason to believe that he will be the more likely of the two to better deal with the physicality of NFL defenders. The extra weight also gives Moore the ability to fight through tackles and to create space downfield against stronger defensive backs. Dotson is a little bit more of an MVS type, while Moore has more of Juju’s traits. Both prospects are capable of fitting in seamlessly with the two veterans to form a fearsome trio.
