5. New York Giants: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

The New York Giants might have a bit of a different approach in free agency and the NFL Draft going forward with Joe Schoen running the show as general manager and Brian Daboll as the head coach. However, a Dave Gettleman special could happen with their two picks in the top 10, and it does in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

Charles Cross is the last of the top tier tackles available, and he’s a phenomenal pass protector to give Daniel Jones time to hang in the pocket. Cross has great footwork, and good anchor, and would form a dominant duo with Andrew Thomas.

6. Carolina Panthers: Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh

The Carolina Panthers are in an odd place in the top 10, especially with no picks in the second and third rounds. This feels like the point to trade back with someone moving up for a quarterback, especially with money invested in Sam Darnold in 2022.

However, moving on from Darnold for a rookie quarterback would give Matt Rhule more time. Kenny Pickett is reportedly the favorite in that room, and he’s the pick in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. Pickett may not have the ceiling that a couple others do in the 2022 NFL Draft, but his accuracy, poise, and occasional playmaking ability make for an efficient passer.
