15. Denver Broncos: George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

The Denver Broncos definitely look the part of a team who is a quarterback away from being a top contender, and it sounds like they will be pursuing every avenue this offseason. Wilson and Rodgers will be their top targets, but don’t rule out other vets. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, they do bypass the position for a top player.

George Karlaftis will make Vic Fangio’s defense even better, especially up front. Karlaftis is a strong rusher with great technique, but he has more athleticism than many realize. His pursuit speed and closing speed is impressive and he drew double and triple teams in college. Karlaftis would be fun in that defense.

16. Pittsburgh Steelers: Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely have a new signal-caller in 2022, but it’s hard to imagine that the new quarterback comes from within, as Dwayne Haskins and Mason Rudolph haven’t made steps to be the guy moving forward.

The Steelers select Sam Howell in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. Howell struggled a bit in 2021 due to a complete switch in supporting cast, but he settled down towards the end of the season. The velocity is still good and the deep ball looks great, but Howell has been a force running the football this season as well. Howell would fit in well with this Steelers offense.
