2022 NFL Mock Draft: Aidan Hutchinson to Jags In Two-Round Projection
29. New England Patriots: Daxton Hill, S, Michigan
We finally got a taste of what happens when the New England Patriots rely on Mac Jones to help them climb back into games. He did an alright job, but had a couple bad turnovers against the Colts. They need to find a number one receiver in the offseason, but they’re a team that likes to go defense early in drafts.
Daxton Hill would be a fun add. With Devin McCourty getting up there in edge, and Kyle Dugger more of a matchup guy, Hill could thrive on the back end, help out in the slot, or play in the box. He’s been better in man coverage and can make plays at the catch point.
30. Dallas Cowboys: Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
The Cowboys are playing impressive defense down the stretch, especially with the return of DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory. Micah Parsons is doing special things, and Trevon Diggs has turned into a number one corner. Dallas is still missing a strong player in the middle, and that’s where they go in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
Jordan Davis could fall all the way here because his impact has mostly been on early downs as a run stuffer. He can take on double teams and free up second level defenders to make plays. If he improves as a pass rusher, look out for a dominant front four in Dallas.
