17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

It’s not like it wasn’t seen coming, but Ben Roethlisberger basically saying 2021 will be it for him presents a question heading into 2022 for the Steelers. Can Mason Rudolph or Dwayne Haskins be the guy? It feels unlikely, and they could be in the veteran market.

They turn to the 2022 NFL Draft instead, and select Sam Howell. Howell may not move the needle for some, and he comes with some flaws, but his deep ball is impressive, he generates good velocity, can make plays out of structure, and is tough as a runner.

18. Denver Broncos: David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan

The Broncos could go the quarterback route here, but in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, we assume they add a veteran in the offseason. Besides, getting an excellent edge talent like David Ojabo at this point is too good to pass up.

Yes, Bradley Chubb is still full of promise, and Jonathan Cooper has made some plays, but Ojabo could be a nightmare for opposing tackles. He’s still learning the game, but his pass rush repertoire is improving rapidly and his athleticism is off the charts. Betting on the traits is the right call here.

19. Miami Dolphins (via SF): Kenyon Green, OL, Texas A&M

This 2022 NFL Mock Draft presents a great scenario for the Miami Dolphins. Tua Tagovailoa is playing better within the confines of what he does well, and the offense is succeeding because of it. Now, they need to get the offensive line right.

Kenyon Green might not go as highly as some analysts rank him, but his rare versatility gives the Dolphins exactly what they need. Green can play right tackle, left guard, right guard, even left tackle if need be.

20. Washington Football Team: Malik Willis, QB, Liberty

Taylor Heinicke has helped Washington climb back into the playoff race, but an upgrade is necessary if this team wants to get to the top of the mountain. Washington goes with Malik Willis here. Willis has plenty of traits, from a strong arm to elusiveness and power as a runner. His processing needs work, but the right coach can unlock the best of his game.
