2022 NFL Mock Draft: Edge Rushers Fly Off The Board, 3 QBs In Round 1
By Evan Bachman
5. New York Giants: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
The Giants have plenty of holes on their roster to fill on both sides of the ball and luckily for them they have two picks in the top ten as of now. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of them taking a quarterback with one of those picks because Daniel Jones has had his struggles, however I don’t think they’ll give up on him just yet.
One of those holes on their roster is along the edge. They drafted Azeez Ojulari in the second round last year, so pairing him with Aidan Hutchinson would give the Giants a very promising edge rusher duo.
Hutchinson is simply a freak athletically, standing at 6-foot-6, 265 pounds he moves very well and he can win with quickness or power. He certainly has all the physical tools to develop into an elite edge rusher in the NFL.
He has always been very good against the run, however this season he has been dominant rushing the passer as well as he’s recorded 53 pressures and 13 sacks in 12 games. This type of high level play rushing the passer this season has really cemented him as one of the best prospects in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
