17. Cincinnati Bengals: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

The Cincinnati Bengals have cooled off recently, but the progress they’ve made shows that the group in place can eventually contend. The 2022 NFL Draft could help get them there, and it starts with the secondary. They need to bring Jessie Bates back, and add a corner to that secondary.

Kaiir Elam has the prototypical size to be a true CB1 on an NFL defense. He transitions extremely well for someone of that size, and he makes plenty of plays at the catch point. In a division with talented receivers, Elam would be crucial for the Bengals defense.

18. Las Vegas Raiders: Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia

Las Vegas has gone from leading the division to fighting for their playoff lives in a matter of a couple weeks, and it’s hard to imagine they stay afloat in a tough division. Turning to the 2022 NFL Draft to make some fixes will be important for a quick turnaround.

Jordan Davis would be an excellent addition to their defense. He’s improved as a pass rusher in 2021 and would be a great space eater for the defense, allowing Yannick Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby to get more one-on-one looks.

19. Carolina Panthers: Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

The Carolina Panthers are a team that will likely be in the quarterback market, and could select one in the 2022 NFL Draft, but for now they stay focused on fixing the offensive line.

Trevor Penning is slowly rising in draft circles, and he was the first to get a Senior Bowl invite. His demeanor and power will make him a plug-and-play left tackle at the next level.

20. Los Angeles Chargers: David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan

The Chargers miss out on Davis, but they still look to the defensive line in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. David Ojabo has had an unreal season so far for Michigan (10 sacks and 10 tackles for loss) and has the athleticism and traits to warrant a first round selection, and he’d be excellent developing opposite Joey Bosa.
