LB. player. 54. Pick Analysis. Utah. Devin Lloyd. 2. Scouting Report

Round 2, 43rd Overall: Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

Linebacker might be the weakest position group that the Philadelphia Eagles have making it a big priority for them in the offseason. Devin Lloyd would be an excellent value for them in the second round.

Lloyd has shown everything you want to see in a potential starting linebacker in the NFL. He’s consistently produced over his career at Utah as he recorded 91 tackles in 2019, was first-team all Pac-12 in 2020, and was named a mid-season All-American this season.

Lloyd has consistently performed well in all areas of playing linebacker as he can defend the run, tackle well, pressure the quarterback, and cover well. So, while he may not have the athleticism that you see in linebackers who come off the board early in the first round, he still is a very good football player, who would be a very good value in the second round.

Pick Analysis. Scouting Report. WR. South Alabama. Jalen Tolbert. 3. player. 54

Round 3, 74th Overall: Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama

The Philadelphia Eagles receiving core has a consistent separator in DeVonta Smith, a speedy deep threat in Jalen Reagor, and a consistent slot receiver in Quez Watkins. However, what they’re lacking is a jump ball type of receiver.

Jalen Tolbert provides just that, he stands 6-foot-3 and that combined with his leaping ability and body control makes him very good in jump ball situations. He also has good speed and has shown in his time at South Alabama he can win on downfield routes.

Alabama. Phidarian Mathis. 4. 54. Scouting Report. DT. player. Pick Analysis

Round 4, 111th Overall: Phidarian Mathis, DT, Alabama

The Crimson Tide defense hasn’t been as good as it was expected to be this season, however Phidarian Mathis has been a consistent contributor for them.

Mathis is effective at both stopping the run and the pass. As a run stopper, he’s big at 6-foot-4, 312 pounds, has good strength, and is good at clogging up running lanes. As a pass rusher, he can win with strength, but he also moves pretty well for someone of his size, so he can win with quickness as well.
