Cleveland Browns 2022 Mock Draft: Upgrading The Trenches
Round 2, 49th Overall: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
We’ve mentioned the Cleveland Browns issues at receiver, and how moving on from both Beckham and Landry could make sense for this franchise. They have a speedster in Anthony Schwartz and a good athlete with a great catch radius in Donovan Peoples-Jones, but finding a true separator would be a good addition.
Jahan Dotson might not be in top tier of receivers for the 2022 NFL Draft, but he makes perfect sense as an instant-impact day two selection. He’s been so much better with his release package in 2021 along with his skills as a route-running separator. He’s got the speed to challenge vertically and plays bigger than his size at the catch point.
Round 3, 80th Overall: Devonte Wyatt, DL, Georgia
As mentioned before, the Browns have serious needs in the trenches, and interior defensive line is another area. Malik Jackson and Malik McDowell have both had their moments this season, but Andrew Billings has struggled and all three could hit free agency next offseason.
Devonte Wyatt is part of a loaded Georgia Bulldogs defense, and he’s had his moments this season. He’s got a strong pair of hands and can create pressure from the interior. He’d be a great addition to the Browns front and make an early impact.
