Indianapolis Colts

With the Colts’ somewhat surprising road win on Sunday Night Football this past week over the 49ers, they showed that they won’t go quietly into the night. They currently sit at 3-4 on the year, and if the playoffs started today, the Cleveland Browns would be the last team in at 4-3. So, the Colts are still in the hunt. And with how much they invested in trading for Carson Wentz, it only makes sense that they’d want to equip him with some better weapons to maximize his chances for success.

Of the Indianapolis Colts’ top five leading receivers in yardage, one player is on injured reserve (Parris Campbell), one is a tight end who is a former college basketball player who didn’t play football at all in college (Mo Alie-Cox), one is a running back (Jonathan Taylor), and one is an undrafted player out of Old Dominion (Zach Pascal).

The Colts’ leading receiver is Michael Pittman Jr. who is blossoming into a standout player in his second year in the league. But things would really open up for him if the Colts’ number two receiver on the outside was a serious threat. And Brandin Cooks would be.

Having T.Y. Hilton back would certainly help the Colts and their passing attack, but he’s only played in one game this season and is questionable for Sunday’s tilt against the Titans. Brandin Cooks could offer some consistent durability as he has played in at least 14 games in each of the past six years. If the asking price isn’t too high, and the Houston Texans don’t mind dealing within the division, Brandin Cooks could be a nice addition for the Colts.
