The Cleveland Browns need to bolster their offensive line depth

This season has been a testament to why depth is so important in the NFL, especially on the offensive. I’ll start by saying that the Cleveland Browns subs on the line have done a decent job. James Hudson and Blake Hance have stepped up, but you can never have too much depth and with other pieces leaving, the line will be a focal point once again.

Chris Hubbard, who has been hurt this season, is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. His role can be, and perhaps already has been, filled with Hudson and Hance. However, Wyatt Teller being a free agent is a different story.

Teller has been one of the best guards in the league and at a bargain price for Cleveland. Paying him could be a bit more difficult given the other contracts that are going to need extended in the near future. To top it all off, we’re only a year away from saying the same about J.C. Tretter, Jack Conklin and Joel Bitonio.

The Cleveland Browns can begin to get ahead of this by addressing some of those issues this coming offseason. The additions of Nick Harris and James Hudson through the draft has started the process of adding the next wave with ample time to be prepared. Expect that to continue into the 2022 NFL Draft.
