The Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers are together for joint practices. Could the two teams come together on a potential trade?

The Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers are together for joint training camp practices ahead of their week two preseason matchup. It’s not always guaranteed, but joint practices provide a great opportunity for the pro scouts and front office to scout players on the other sideline who might be able to help their team out.

With relationships between the two teams already well-established, why not come together on a trade, maybe two?

You just never know, but it’s always fun to look at the possibilities.

The Carolina Panthers recently traded away Greg Little to the Miami Dolphins, a trade that may have made some sense for the Baltimore Ravens who traded Orlando Brown Jr. earlier this offseason.

These two teams are obviously willing to deal, so let’s look at some deals that could be made.

Baltimore Ravens & Carolina Panthers trade possibilities

1. WR Miles Boykin to the Carolina Panthers

Things haven’t quite worked out the way the Baltimore Ravens hoped and planned when they used a third-round pick on Miles Boykin back in 2019.

The Ravens undoubtedly hoped that Boykin’s ridiculous combination of size and athleticism would translate rather immediately as we have seen from another Notre Dame product Chase Claypool.

Boykin does have seven touchdown grabs through two NFL seasons, but the Baltimore Ravens don’t seem to be able to put their full confidence in him to play a substantial role. The evidence of that?

First and foremost, they drafted Rashod Bateman in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Second, there have been rumors even after the drafting of Bateman that Baltimore may have interest in acquiring other receivers.

If the team is ready to give up on Boykin, Carolina would be an interesting landing spot, even with their recent addition of second-round pick Terrace Marshall out of LSU.

For a team that undoubtedly needs to ensure it has depth at the wide receiver position, a flyer like Boykin would be a nice shot to take.
