Scouting Report. Oregon. Kayvon Thibodeaux. Pick Analysis. EDGE. 4. player. 30

The New York Jets are entering a new era with Robert Saleh at head coach and Mike LaFleur at offensive coordinator. After drafting both Mekhi Becton and Denzel Mims in 2020, the Jets added even more talent to the offense in 2021. They signed Corey Davis in free agency, then drafted their quarterback of the future in Zach Wilson, while also drafting Alijah Vera-Tucker for the offensive line and Elijah Moore to the receiver room.

The offense should enjoy some success in 2021, even with Wilson running things as a rookie. However, the defense could be the unit lagging a bit. Lawson coming over from Cincinnati should help, and Quinnen Williams could be on the verge of a breakout season. But, there’s still work to do here.

Landing a top edge rusher from the 2022 NFL Draft would really complete the defense, and that’s what happens here in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. Kayvon Thibodeaux might be the best player in the class and it’s tough to argue against that. He plays with great speed and power on the edge, and is a already a fantastic run defender who gets great positioning with his hands to disengage from blocks. His motor runs hot and his athleticism is outstanding.

If he adds more to his pass rushing arsenal, Thibodeaux will be dominant at the next level and a great piece for Saleh’s defense.
