Pick Analysis. Safety. Notre Dame. 5. player. 52. Scouting Report. Kyle Hamilton

The Jacksonville Jaguars are also a team in a new era, thanks to the number one overall selection in 2021. Trevor Lawrence is still touted as the next great quarterback, and it’s hard to argue with that. His transition to a more vertical offense will be interesting to watch, but he has the arm talent to make it happen. The weapons this offense has will help him out as well, especially the receiver room, which added Marvin Jones in the offseason.

The defense looks good as well, and this group could make noise in 2021. There’s really only one position that needs help on the defense, and that’s the safety position. Luckily, there’s a safety with rare traits available in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft ripe for the taking: Notre Dame’s Kyle Hamilton.

Hamilton does so much well already as a prospect. He covers ground with exceptional speed and range, and is an incredible tackler. Hamilton can operate near the line of scrimmage and fill in the run game, while also being effective in single high looks or in man coverage. His transitions skills are exceptional, and he has the length to frustrate passing windows. Hamilton would fit in so well with a defense looking to get back to the top of the league.
