2022 NFL Mock Draft: QBs go 1-2, Defense Dominates Top 10
The Los Angeles Chargers had as good an offseason as one could ask for. They brought in Brandon Staley to be the head coach, and he will get the defense on track for the 2021 season. After completely nailing the Justin Herbert pick, the Chargers went out to make sure the offensive line would be in better shape for his sophomore campaign. They signed All-Pro Corey Linsley and drafted versatile lineman Rashawn Slater, the latter of whom will likely be the left tackle for 2021 and beyond.
The backs and receivers look great heading into the season, and the defense is stacked with talent. So, how does a team on the rise get better next offseason and in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft? They add another weapon of course.
With Hunter Henry leaving via free agency, Jared Cook and Donald Parham are leading the tight end room. That can be improved, and enter Jahleel Billingsley.
Billingsley can be a matchup nightmare for opposing defense. He’s a very good route runner who is smooth in and out of breaks. He can make plays in contested spots and has a large catch radius. Billingsley is also versatile enough to line up everywhere and contribute, which will make the Chargers offense that much more dangerous for years to come.
