3. Isaiah Rodgers

The Indianapolis Colts not drafting a corner definitely makes the group the most intriguing as training camp gets underway. A day three selection in the 2020 draft, Isaiah Rodgers is certainly one to watch when the pads go on.

Rodgers didn’t get many snaps for the Colts in 2020, other than averaging 28.8 yards per return as a kick returner. He did get targeted eight times in coverage last season, and broke up two passes on those targets, one of those being a near interception in the playoff game against Buffalo.

The movement skills Rodgers possesses are very good, and his functional athleticism is excellent. That combo is a great foundation, but there’s so much work to be done before he becomes a weekly starter. However, there’s no reason he can’t earn some more snaps in 2021 with a strong camp and preseason.

Obviously, the depth chart has names returning like T.J. Carrie and Marvel Tell III, but Rodgers will be able to stick on the roster because of his value on special teams. That value, combined with the athletic upside, make him someone that many should keep an eye on for the Indianapolis Colts this summer.

It will be interesting to see how the defensive back room shakes out, along with how Campbell and the young receivers grow. It should be a fun training camp for the Indianapolis Colts with plenty of intrigue.
