1. Parris Campbell

The Indianapolis Colts are going to need everyone to step up at the skill positions this season as Wentz continues to work back to form. T.Y. Hilton is getting up there in age and there needs to be someone to step up. Michael Pittman Jr. will get that opportunity as well, but for third-year receiver Parris Campbell, the time is now.

Campbell’s intrigue as a prospect was built on the speed he had and how it could be utilized at various levels of the field. Campbell was dangerous in mesh concepts in college, where he could turn five yard competitions into touchdowns.

What’s tough about Campbell’s career so far with the Colts is that it hasn’t been any issue with on-field performance. Campbell just needs to stay healthy. He’s only played in nine games in two years, and when given a chance, has shown some promise. Campbell is averaging over eight yards per touch in his young career, and contributes as a receiver and a runner.

While the Indianapolis Colts could move back to more “12” personnel this season, it’s still imperative that the receiver room step up. Campbell should have a clear path to win the WR3 spot, and his dynamic skill set will invite opportunities in the slot. He needs to show growth this summer with his release game and prove he can contribute on the perimeter while also, more important, staying healthy.
