The Indianapolis Colts are set to kick off training camp practices on Wednesday, and it’s an important season for the franchise. After a very solid 2020 campaign that saw them push the Buffalo Bills to the brink in the postseason, the Colts went out and traded for Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

The familiarity with head coach Frank Reich will be important for Wentz to potentially get close to reaching the peak he had back in 2017. Reich will work closely with Wentz to make him comfortable in the offense.

The offensive line were raised in the offseason once Anthony Castonzo retired, and the Indianapolis Colts ended up not addressing it early in the 2021 NFL Draft. Instead, they selected Penn State’s Will Fries on day three and signed Eric Fisher to a one-year deal. Coming off a torn achilles will be tough for Fisher, so the questions still remain at the position.

There’s much excitement surrounding second year running back Jonathan Taylor, who’s coming off 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns in his rookie campaign. As the Colts bring Wentz along, Taylor’s sophomore success could be even more crucial in 2021.

Speaking of excitement, the pass rush got a major facelift in the offseason, starting with the selection of Kwity Paye in the first round of the draft. His athleticism and toolbox as a rusher could bring juice to a position that has needed it for a long time.

Amongst all the questions and excitement, there are a few players who will be under the microscope throughout training camp this summer.

Let’s look at three players that many will have eyes on as the Indianapolis Colts start camp.
