Harrison Bryant, TE, Cleveland Browns

A year ago it seemed like Harrison Bryant would be lucky to get on the field in Cleveland. While the team was planning to use multiple tight ends, he was buried on the depth chart behind newly signed Austin Hooper and David Njoku. However, as the season progressed and opportunities were presented, Bryant quickly carved out a role for himself.

Appearing in 15 games for the Browns, the most for any tight end on Cleveland’s roster, Bryant quietly hauled in 24 catches on 38 targets. He was able to total 238 receiving yards and found the end zone three times, the same amount of receiving touchdowns as both Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.

That was all done as a rookie in a year when offseason workouts were basically non-existent. Now, Bryant will have had a full offseason to work with coaches, with Baker Mayfield and make the necessary adjustments to the NFL game that he wasn’t fully able to last year after the draft.

Cleveland’s depth chart currently lists Bryant as the team’s No. 2 tight end behind Hooper. Given his athleticism and versatility, the Browns will find more ways to get him involved in the upcoming season. He played above expectations last season, but that might just be the foundation for what could be coming.
