3. Randy Gregory, DE

2021 cap number: $2.2 million
2021 cap savings if cut/traded: $2.1 million

For Randy Gregory to be cut or traded, it’s probably going to require something pretty drastic to happen.

Either Gregory would have to be in trouble with the league again or someone like Bradlee Anae just having an other-worldly training camp and preseason.

At this point, though, it’s safe to say the Dallas Cowboys have stuck with Gregory through a lot.

Gregory has been in the league since 2015 but has played just 38 games.

The Cowboys drafted Chauncey Golston out of Iowa in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and he has a real shot to steal someone’s (Gregory’s?) job.

The Cowboys would probably much sooner keep Gregory and hope that his relatively modest $2.2 million cap number in 2021 turns into 10 sacks, but he’s got to go out there and earn it.

Gregory could just as easily be on the Cowboys’ projected breakout players list as he could the potential big-name cuts list.
