2022 NFL mock draft: Texans pass on QB in QB-heavy predictions
The Jacksonville Jaguars made one of the boldest moves in the NFL in the 2021 offseason, bringing longtime college football head coach Urban Meyer out of retirement to see if he could turn around their program.
The big draw for Urban Meyer?
Trevor Lawrence.
Meyer had the opportunity to make the number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and in addition to bringing in Lawrence, Meyer got to pair him up with his old college backfield mate Travis Etienne.
The additions of Lawrence and Etienne at the top of the Jaguars’ 2021 NFL Draft class were merely foundation pieces for this team’s continuing rebuild.
General manager Trent Baalke has a number of intriguing pieces already to work with on both sides of the ball, but where the Jacksonville Jaguars could be truly lacking going into the 2021 season is in the trenches.
DeMarvin Leal may just be the best prospect on an absolutely loaded Texas A&M roster heading into the 2021 college football season.
Leal’s run-stuffing ability is clearly there, but there’s room for growth as a pass rusher. If he can show big improvements in that area then the top five is definitely not out of the question.
With his combination of size, quickness, and versatility on the defensive line, a breakout season would have Leal firmly in the conversation to be one of the top defensive players off the board.
