After the drama with Russell Wilson began to fizzle a bit, the Seattle Seahawks got to work getting him some help on the offensive side of the ball.

One of the moves they made almost in conjunction with the signing of Gerald Everett was the trade for Las Vegas Raiders right guard Gabe Jackson.

Jackson certainly has a reputation for being one of the best offensive guards in the NFL, even if analytics folks say his play has dropped off a bit over the past couple of years.

Although he’s maybe not the best guard in the NFL right now, Jackson is in the top half and provides some much-needed veteran presence to the Seattle offensive line, which is almost constantly an issue for Russell Wilson.

This move will allow 2020 third-round pick Damien Lewis to move to the left guard position and give the Seahawks a pretty formidable trio on the interior offensive line along with center Ethan Pocic.

If Jackson can return to his 2019 form, the Seahawks will be in really good shape here.

Ultimately, just about any move the Seahawks made to upgrade the offensive line would have been applauded by the fan base, but to go and get a player like Jackson for a pretty reasonable price (5th-round pick) was a nice get.
