After falling later than expected in the 2020 NFL Draft, CeeDee Lamb had himself a very good rookie season for America’s team, the Dallas Cowboys. In his rookie season, Lamb had 74 catches for 935 yards while also having five receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown as well.

Coming out of Oklahoma, Lamb was considered to be one of the most polished products in his position group. In college, Lamb was a number one target on the outside for the most part, but expanding his game in Dallas could potentially turn him into a star at the next level.

Last season for the Dallas Cowboys, we saw Lamb appear a lot in the slot on most possessions. To emphasize that, Lamb had the second-most snaps in the slot out of anyone in the league last season. Lamb proved in college he could win one-on-ones on the outside and provided he can be a mismatch machine in the middle of the field for the Dallas Cowboys.

Lamb also showed great ability after the catch racking up YAC all season long. Having Amari Cooper out wide and some key players coming back off injury, Lamb could go to a whole other level in 2021.

Dallas Cowboys having Dak Prescott back helps big-time

Last season with the Dallas Cowboys, Lamb only got to play with Dak Prescott for four weeks leading up to his season-ending injury in week 5. After week 5, Lamb would be catching balls from Andy Dalton, Garrett Gilbert, and Ben DiNucci. Dak seems like he will be ready to go next season which makes Lamb an even bigger threat going into the 2021 NFL season for Dallas.

With Prescott looking like he could break the single-season passing record last year, be ready for a lot of 4 to 88 connections next season.

Another guy who did not have the best season last year due to injury would be Ezekiel Elliot. Although Zeke only missed two games, it was obvious he was not healthy all season due to big production by his running mate Tony Pollard. There was talk out of Cowboys OTAs not too long ago of Dak Prescott stating that “Zeke has never looked this fast before” which could lead to a better rushing attack this season.

Add Prescott coming back, a nice run game with a healthy Zeke Elliott, and a healthy offensive in Tyron Smith and Zack Martin who dealt with injuries all of last year, and it all could open the passing game over the middle for Lamb.

CeeDee Lamb is already getting a lot of praise for his rookie year which could be amplified because he plays for the Dallas Cowboys. Although the hype train is for real, for Lamb showed as complete of a rookie year as anyone has in the past decade.

He proved his abilities in outside man coverage, was one of the best slot receivers this past season, and had the numbers to back it up. Lamb will be wearing the star on his helmet for as long as he is a Cowboy, but Lamb could become a permanent star in the NFL with the tools the second-year receiver possesses.
