2021 NFL Mock Draft: 13th pick

Northwestern. Pick Analysis. OT. Rashawn Slater. 13. player. Scouting Report. 13

Los Angeles Chargers key additions so far

  • C Corey Linsley
  • OT Matt Feiler
  • TE Jared Cook

After Justin Herbert’s wildly successful rookie season, the Los Angeles Chargers made a boatload of major changes that could potentially come back to bite them.

Gone are former OC Shane Steichen and QB coach Pep Hamilton. Gone is a vast majority of the 2020 Chargers offensive line (maybe not a terrible thing) and tight end Hunter Henry.

Brandon Staley was hired from the Rams to be the Chargers’ new head coach, and he hired Joe Lombardi as his offensive coordinator.

Herbert will be changing schemes, he will have a new offensive line, and he will have a new TE1 in Jared Cook.

The Chargers will obviously hope that Herbert will have no issue with those changes, but time will tell the tale.

In the meantime, they need to do everything they can to get him protection. Rashawn Slater had a signature game in 2019 against Ohio State’s Chase Young, but he has been very good besides that game as well.

Capable of playing on either the right or left side, he looks like an immediate starter in the NFL and an impact player with tremendous athletic talent for his size.
