2021 NFL mock draft: Round 2, 50th overall

Scouting Report. Iowa. IDL. Daviyon Nixon. 50. player. 59. Pick Analysis

The Miami Dolphins are absolutely loaded with 2021 NFL Draft capital, especially after trading down earlier in this NFL mock draft. This extra capital allows the team to take a chance on pure talent early, even if the position does not stand out as a major need. That is exactly what Miami does with the selection of Nixon.

Nixon is an extremely explosive interior defensive lineman who gets off of the ball quickly and shows exciting upside as a one-gap penetrator. Nixon is also a strong player who holds his ground well up front and shows great instincts as a run defender. The Iowa product is a fun player to watch who does a great job of making splash plays in the backfield. He would undoubtedly provide some juice to the Dolphins’ defensive line, even if that is in a limited immediate role early.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 2, 51st overall

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Liam Eichenberg. player. 51. 58. OT. Notre Dame

The left tackle position stands out as a major long-term need for the Washington Football Team. Liam Eichenberg is not an athletic freak who has a ton of long-term upside, but he is a rock-solid football player who competes well as a run blocker and consistently protects the blindside of his quarterback. Eichenberg has immediate value as a starting left tackle at the next level and would be a strong pick for Washington in this range.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 2, 52nd overall

Florida. WR. Kadarius Toney. 52. player. 57. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Chicago Bears would love to address their offensive tackle situation here and Eichenberg going just a pick earlier is less than ideal. That being said, they could also certainly use some offensive playmakers and Kadarius Toney would be a great value selection in this range.

Toney really grew as a well-rounded wide receiver this past season, showing high-level route running ability and consistent hands all season long. Toney shows elite elusiveness in space, shaking defenders with insanely quick change of direction skills and maintaining his balance through contact well. Make no mistake about it, Toney is an extremely talented player who would undoubtedly help take the Bears’ offensive attack to the next level.
