Denver Broncos mock draft: Round 3, 71st overall

CB. Pick Analysis. Syracuse. Ifeatu Melifonwu. 3. player. 827. Scouting Report

Cornerback stands out as a major position of need for the Denver Broncos and the most likely position for them to address in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Caleb Farley and Patrick Surtain II both stand out as great first-round targets for the Broncos, but they decided to go in another direction in the first round of this mock draft. However, they must address this cornerback need eventually and do so with the selection of Ifeatu Melifonwu in the third round.

Melifonwu is a big long and athletic cornerback prospect who has exciting upside at the next level. His length is a major advantage on the outside and he does a great job of making the most out of it. Melifonwu also moves extremely well for a bigger cornerback prospect, changing directions quickly and showing the deep speed needed to make an impact against deep-ball receivers.

Simply put, Melifonwu stands out as a great value pick in this range and would certainly be a fantastic mid-round target for the cornerback-needy Broncos. He would quickly grow into an important player for this team in the secondary, helping round out the cornerback room nicely.
