Washington Football Team mock draft: Round 3, 82nd overall

Pick Analysis. S. Andre Cisco. player. Scouting Report. Syracuse. 3. 827

Another pick in this mock draft, another ACC star for the Washington Football Team. Andre Cisco is an extremely tough prospect to evaluate and his draft-day range is quite wide. However, he is undoubtedly an extremely talented safety prospect who could certainly be an early pick for the right team. Here, Washington makes an investment in Cisco, hoping to groom him as a strong long-term option at deep safety.

Cisco was incredible at making plays on the ball in college, finishing his Syracuse career with 13 interceptions and 14 passes defended in only 24 games. He is a dynamic center-field defender who always seems to find his way to the ball and does an incredible job as the last line of defense on the back-end.

Cisco is an extremely aggressive player and that does get him in trouble at times. He is certainly going to have to become more disciplined if he expects to have a long NFL career, but placing him in Washington under the direction of Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio would undoubtedly be good for his development.

The dynamic safety out of Syracuse also tore his ACL early last season and that certainly hurts his draft stock. That being said, if Cisco can come back healthy, he could easily become a huge value for a team like Washington in this range.

Washington Football Team mock draft: Round 4, 124th overall

4. 873. Scouting Report. QB. Texas AM. Kellen Mond. player. Pick Analysis

No, I am not calling Kellen Mond a franchise savior like Chris Simms seems to think he can be. However, there is certainly some upside to Mond’s game and quarterback is a massive position of need for Washington.

Unless they really believe in Mac Jones and secure him as their franchise quarterback in the first round, there is no perfect situation for Washington to solve their long-term quarterback need this offseason. That being said, pairing a high upside project like Mond with a stop-gap veteran free agent is not a terrible plan of attack.

Mond shows impressive poise in the pocket and has the athleticism needed to escape and make plays with his legs when needed. This prospect also has a big arm, displaying the ability to hit nearly any throw on the field, but his overall decision-making and accuracy leave plenty to be concerned about.

Mond is certainly a long-term project player who will not be ready to see the field right away. That being said, his arm talent and athleticism give him some upside that is worth checking into for a quarterback-needy team in this range. Washington would not be betting on Mond with this pick, just getting him in the system to see if he can grow into a possible starter down the line. At worst, Mond should be able to grow into a capable backup option for the team.
