Arizona Cardinals 2021 NFL mock draft: Round 2, 49th overall

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. IOL. Landon Dickerson. 2. Alabama. player. 829

Led by Kyler Murray under center and DeAndre Hopkins on the outside, the Arizona Cardinals feature an explosive offensive attack with a ton of upside. That being said, this unit struggled with consistency this past season, ranking 19th in offensive DVOA through 2020. The lack of a consistent rushing attack hurt, but Murray struggled more than anticipated in his second season and the Cardinals must work to improve the group around him this offseason.

The offensive line was a major reason for their struggles this past season and the Cardinals appear to be especially weak on the interior. In the second round of this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Arizona Cardinals address their interior offensive line need with the selection of Landon Dickerson.

Dickerson is a big and powerful offensive lineman who is absolutely dominant at the point of attack. He played all across the offensive line in college but was at his best in his final season as the starting center for Alabama. Dickerson may be best-suited to play center at the next level, but could certainly handle offensive guard duties as well.

While Dickerson’s game is built on his fantastic natural power and tough style of play, do not sleep on his quick feet up front. Dickerson is quick off of the ball and shows the ability to consistently make blocks at the second level. He is also a smart and dependable pass protector who would undoubtedly help keep the pocket clean for Murray.

The only real issue with Dickerson is that he suffered a major knee injury at Alabama late last season. Obviously, his medicals will go a long way towards determining his value in the draft, but if his knee checks out well, Dickerson could be a massive value in this range.
