59. Rashod Bateman. 18. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Minnesota

Rashod Bateman seems to be the overlooked fourth member of the top tier of this 2021 NFL Draft wide receiver class. Bateman opted out part-way through the 2020 season to prep for the draft but has proven to be productive and impressive as a pass catcher.

In 2019, Bateman racked up 1,219 yards and 11 touchdowns. Meanwhile, his tape is even more impressive than his numbers. Bateman is a force in the red zone, always finding a way to come down with the ball for the score.

As a rookie, I would expect Bateman’s “Spectacular Catch” rating on Madden to be at the top of the draft class. He has a seemingly never-ending highlight reel. No matter how many defenders are in the area, Bateman finds away to snag the ball.

Bateman is well-rounded as well. He is a solid route runner, has great speed and decent size. He is effective with the ball in his hands and shifty in the open field. I really don’t think he is far behind those top three receivers in this class and could be a bit of a steal this late in a 2021 NFL mock draft.

Many mockers believe that the Dolphins should take Chase, Smith or Waddle if they do end up picking third overall, but I think something like this would be the best-case scenario. Not only do you still provide Tagovailoa with a dynamic weapon to go along with DeVante Parker, but you get the best lineman in the draft, too.
