NFL mock draft 2021: Four quarterbacks in the top five, Watson stays put

The Las Vegas Raiders have a fairly well-rounded roster at this point. While it may not be a top-tier roster overall, there aren’t many glaring weaknesses. With Raekwon McMillan set to hit free agency and the signing of Cory Littleton not working out quite as well as they had hoped, the Raiders could use a dynamic player like Jeremiah Owosu-Koromoah.

Owosu-Koromoah wore many hats for the Fighting Irish defense. He is listed as a linebacker in this 2021 NFL mock draft and in most, but he really aligned as more of a big nickel at Notre Dame. In that spot, Owosu-Koromoah did a little bit of everything.

Filling that role, Owosu-Koromoah developed into a very effective defender in coverage. He can man up tight ends, running backs and even wide receivers. He is also very effective in zone coverage, displaying safety-like instincts (another position that he can play).

When he’s not dropping in coverage, Owosu-Koromoah is very effective around the line of scrimmage. He is great at blitzing off of that edge and making his way to the quarterback. Against the run, he has great vision and instincts, proving to be a sound tackler.

Any team would love to have a versatile player like Jeremiah Owosu-Koromoah. He reminds me a bit of both Isaiah Simmons and Akeem Davis-Gaither from a year ago but is even better in coverage. Getting a player like that in the second half of the first round in this 2021 NFL mock draft could be a steal for Las Vegas.
