Los Angeles Chargers NFL mock draft: Round 6, 200th overall

Pick Analysis. Josh Imatorbhebhe. 807. Scouting Report. WR. Illinois. 6. player

Wide receiver Mike Williams is entering a contract year and may be a difficult player for the Chargers to bring back next offseason. Williams is undoubtedly talented, but he has struggled with injuries throughout his career and could be a difficult player for the Chargers to invest in for the long-term.

With this in mind, taking a flyer on Josh Imatorbhebhe late in the 2021 NFL Draft certainly makes sense. Imatorbhebhe is an extremely raw talent, but he is a big and explosive outside receiver who can stretch the field deep and shine at the catch point. He has exciting upside as an NFL receiver and while he is far from guaranteed to be a success, Imatorbhebhe could grow into a worthy replacement for Williams on the outside.

OL. Alaric Jackson. 6. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Iowa. player. 878

We have discussed the Chargers’ offensive line needs throughout this NFL mock draft and here, they look to address the position again. Alaric Jackson was a strong and stable left tackle at Iowa, but he lacks ideal athleticism and arm length to play the position at the next level.

That being said, Jackson is a tough and physical offensive lineman who shines when he is allowed to play forward and attack. Moving Jackson inside and making him a full-time offensive guard at the next level seems to make the most sense and he would undoubtedly provide value to the Chargers in that role.

RB. Rakeem Boyd. 7. player. Scouting Report. Arkansas. 844. Pick Analysis

With their final pick of this mock draft, the Los Angeles Chargers invest in some depth at the running back position. Rakeem Boyd is a patient runner who shows impressive ball carrier vision and good burst through the hole.

He does a great job of locating the hole and getting through it quickly and also shows strong overall contact balance. Boyd is also a capable pass-catcher out of the backfield who brings true three-down value. Make no mistake about it, Boyd is a talented running back prospect who is worthy of a flyer in this range.
