Los Angeles Chargers NFL mock draft: Round 3, 77th overall

Pick Analysis. CB. Tyson Campbell. 3. 814. Scouting Report. Georgia. player

With Casey Hayward and Chris Harris both hitting free agency next offseason, the Chargers would be wise to look ahead and address their cornerback depth a year early. If nothing else, this team should leave the 2021 NFL Draft with a cornerback prospect who could potentially take over for one of their top two cornerbacks after next season.

Tyson Campbell out of Georgia is the guy for LA in this NFL mock draft. Campbell is a long and athletic cornerback prospect who shines in press coverage at the line of scrimmage. He does a nice job of using his long arms to make life difficult on opposing receivers and also moves extremely well for a cornerback of his size.

Campbell does lack ideal ball skills and can tend to get a bit grabby at times. That being said, guys who move as well as he does at this size do not come around often. He is far from a perfect player, but with some development, Campbell could grow into an impact starting outside cornerback for this team.

Los Angeles Chargers NFL mock draft: Round 3, 97th overall

OL. East Carolina. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 932. D'Ante Smith. 3

Adding Vera-Tucker to the mix would certainly help, but the Los Angeles Chargers cannot stop there. This team has multiple needs across the offensive line and they must aggressively attack those needs both in free agency and through the draft. Here, they take another stab up front, snagging D’Ante Smith out of East Carolina.

Smith is a long and athletic offensive lineman who profiles well at offensive tackle at the next level. He displays quick feet in pass protection, attacks the second level well and does a great job of using his length to his advantage on the edge. Smith does need to fill out his frame a bit in order to reach his full upside, but he is certainly an interesting player who could quickly grow into an important piece for the Chargers up front.
