The Jaguars’ defense along with struggling to cover people also had trouble when it came to rushing the passer. The team tied for dead last in sacks per game with Cincinnati averaging just 1.1 sacks a game. One position that did not help in this area is defensive tackle as no defensive tackle on the roster had more than one sack.

Due to this lack of a pass rush the team will likely look to upgrade this position in both free agency and in the 2021 NFL Draft. A few free agents the team might look at include Leonard Williams and Sheldon Rankins. In the draft, a player they might look at in the middle rounds is UCLA’s Osa Odighizuwa.

Odighizuwa is someone who can definitely get after the passer as he recorded four sacks in just seven games last season. Part of the reason he was able to have such high production last year is that he is a good athlete for a defensive tackle and gets off the ball quickly.

While he might not be the biggest and strongest defensive tackle in the 2021 NFL, his skill set fits what Jacksonville needs.
